    The Deputy Governor’s 5K Challenge is celebrating its sixth anniversary by selecting three deserving causes to benefit from the 2019 event, which will take place in September. With a focus on stepping up to the mantle to support the most vulnerable and reduce stigma, the beneficiaries this year will be: the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre (CICC), the Special Needs Foundation Cayman (SNFC) and the Alex Panton Foundation.

    Ready for the 2019 DG's 5k Challenge? Instead of taking place as usual in April, the Islands’ biggest charity walk/run will now be held in September. Exact dates will be announced soon.

    “We’ve decided to host the DG’s 5K Challenge in September to avoid clashing with Cayman CARIFTA 2019”, says Deputy Governor Franz Manderson, "It’s only the third time that the Cayman Islands have been chosen to host the region’s largest track and field championships. It’s an honour to have been selected and we wanted nothing to detract from that."
