The Cayman Islands, located in the beautiful Caribbean Sea with crystal clear waters, white sands and warm weather all year, is the perfect location for outdoor water sports. Over two decades ago, against such an ideal backdrop, the tradition of the Flowers One Mile Sea Swim began.


As the event swims into its 28th year on June 13th, 2020, we invite you to participate in what has come to be considered a must-do event for open water aficionados and has been named one of the World’s Top 10 Open Water Swims.

  • SPRINT (Adults) 800m swim, approx.12 mile bike, 3 mile run 6:30am

  • SUPER SPRINT 400m swim, 6 mile bike, 1.5 mile run 8am

  • JUNIOR SPRINT 200m swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run 9am

  • KIDS TRI (5yrs +) 50m swim, 0.5 mile bike, 1/5 mile run 9:45am

  • TYKES DASH (4yrs and under) ‐ Run across Soccer Pitch 10:15am


If you have a swim suit, a bike, and a pair of running shoes, you can do this race!! This family‐friendly triathlon is unique in Cayman – a great start for those of you who may be shy about triathlon.


There are lots of distance options for the whole family to enjoy! Kids (17 and under) will race entirely on closed roads/ private property, thus contributing to a safe and scenic race for all. 


Teams are welcome. Bring your family. Form a team. Medals, draw prizes and food are featured for everyone!


Kids’ events are free. Adults are required to join Cayman Islands Triathlon Association (“CITA”) – membership fee $15 to cover insurance. Participants and parents are welcome to make donations in support of this year’s chosen initiative ‐ the CITA Youth Program. The program is a new initiative being brought in to encourage triathlon among children in Cayman, CITA hopes to include coaching programs, training sessions and support with representing the Cayman Islands in championship races off island. We hope you will agree this is a very relevant and worthy program. The first and foremost focus of the event is on encouraging participation and fun! However if you feel you would like to make a donation or raise funds we would be extremely grateful.

The Cayman Islands is an idyllic location for open water swimming. The pristine sandy white beaches, crystal clear water, exotic tropical fish and flat calm seas offer some of the world’s best conditions for longer swimming distances. The team at the Flowers One Mile Sea Swim are excited to offer distance swimmers a new and challenging addition to the Flowers Swimming calendar. This year we will be introducing the first ever Flowers international 3k and 10k events.


The World’s most scenic 3k and 10k will take place on Monday, June 15th, 2020 following the Flowers One Mile Sea Swim on Saturday, June 13th, 2020. Local and visiting swimming aficionados are encouraged to make it a swimming weekend by participating on Saturday in the mile swim and then on Monday in the 3k or 10k events. These new events follow in the Flowers tradition, guaranteeing 1 in 7 random prize odds. Great prizes include, trips to Toronto, New York and all Cayman Airways destinations. Other random prizes include gym membership from Anytime Fitness, Electronic devices from Flow and lots of other exciting prizes – the full list will be available shortly.


Trophies will be awarded to male and female 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall winners and age group certificates for all age groups winners.


The overall male and female winners for the 3k and 10k will receive a free round trip ticket from North America to the 2021 Flowers Sea Swim, along with one week hotel accommodation and rent a car. Each finisher completing within the cut off times will receive a medal and goodie bag.

NEW DATE: Originally scheduled for April 4th, Guardians Alive 2020 will  now take place on Saturday September 5th starting 6am at Seven Mile Public Beach.

This is a FREE 5k Walk / Run, 10k Run or Beach Wellness Workshop Styled Sessions.

The Wellness sessions, suitable for all fitness levels, also start at 6am and, weather permitting, will include:

  • Deep Water Running / Water Walking
  • Water Aerobics / Beach Workout
  • Water Stretch / Beach Stretch

Get signed up to take part with some of the island's most compassionate and experienced athletes who we call our "Guardians".

The Lions Club of Grand Cayman proudly presents the 2020 PACCE (Prostate & Colon Cancer Event): The 9th Annual Delano Hislop Memorial Journey for Life Walk / Run.

This year: Walk 5k, Run 10k or Ride 15k

This is not a timed event. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in any portion of the event unless accompanied by an adult.

Proceeds raised from this event will benefit Jasmine (formerly Cayman HospiceCare) and the Cayman Islands Cancer Society.

Registrants please try to attend "T-Shirt & Bib Pick Up"on Saturday 5th September from 7am - 11am at the Lions Community Centre, Crewe Road . If you can't make that, please be sure to arrive early on event day.

There will be two FREE build-up events in the Triathlon Training Series available to CI Triathlon Association members this year. 

Transition will open at 6am, with the ‘race’ starting at 6.45am.

Race 1: Sunday September 6th:

  • Sprint Build-Up distances: 375m swim, 6.2 mile bike and 1.55 mile run
  • Olympic Build-Up distances: 750m swim, 12.4 mile bike and 3.1 mile run


Race 2: Sunday September 27th:

  • Sprint - distances to be confirmed
  • Olympic – distances to be confirmed


These races are all self-supporting. CITA will provide water and ice in the transition area, however athletes are encouraged to bring any additional refreshments or equipment they feel they will need. The courses will be marked but with limited marshals and open roads.

All participants are required to be CITA members. If you are not a CITA member you can register now for just $15 for the year.

This is a fun series designed to help athletes train and prepare for race day. Please be mindful and supportive of the new athletes on the course for the first time!

The Cayman Islands Aquatic Sports Association and Foster's present the 35th Annual Foster’s 800m Sea Swim. 

After the 800m main event there will also be a 400m swim for ages 12 and under.

  • WHERE: Governor’s Beach, West Bay Road.
  • TIME: 800m Swim starts 4pm. 12&U 400m Swim follows.
  • REGISTRATION: Governor’s Beach from 3pm to 3:45pm
  • CUT-OFF TIME: 40 Minutes from Race Start
  • COURSE: Loop – Start and Finish at Governor’s Beach

ENTRY FEES:

  • 800m CIASA Members: CI$10 for children and CI$15 for adults
  • 800m Non-Members: CI$15 for children and CI$20 for adults
  • 400m Ages 12 & Under: CI$10

800m AWARDS: Trophies for first, second and third places in all age groups. T-shirts and refreshments for all participants.

400m: Ribbons and refreshments for all participants.

If weather conditions threaten the safety of the swimmers or organizers, the race may be cancelled at the discretion of the Race Director.
