Stroke and Stride is a 3-series fund raiser race to support young triathletes and community charities. It attracts a wide range of abilities; from those that just want to get out and have some fun through to seasoned athletes.

The swim distance increases each week whilst the run stays the same at 2 miles.

Participate in 1, 2 or 3 of the races - individually or as a team:

  • Race 1 - May 13th - 400m swim, 2 mile run - 5:45pm start
  • Race 2 - May 20th - 600m swim, 2 mile run - 5:45pm start
  • Race 3 - May 27th - 800m swim, 2 mile run - 5:45pm start

Minimum age on race day is 13. Under 18's must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

CI$ Entry Fees: Individuals: $15 per race / $35 all 3. Teams: $25 per race / $60 all 3. Triathlon Association Membership required. Available for $15 at registration.

Series Scoring: 10 Points are awarded to the 1st finisher in each category, 9 for the 2nd, 8 for the 3rd and so on until 1 Point for 10th place. Overall results are calculated by Total Points, and then by Total Time if all races have been completed.

Awards will be presented following the 3rd race:

  • Top 3 male and female individuals;
  • Top male, female and mixed teams; and
  • Spot prizes - everything has a chance to win!

The 17th annual Butterfield 800m Sea Swim will be held on Saturday May 25th 2019, starting at Governor's Beach at 4pm.

Registration: Register for event at the start of the race, on race day from 3pm to 3:45pm.

Awards: Trophies for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in age groups 12 and under. Medals for top 3 places in other age group categories.

Cost: CIASA members: CI$10 for children and CI$15 for adults. Non-members: CI$15 for children and CI$20 for adults.

T-Shirts and refreshments provided for all participants.

Course: Circular course starting and ending at Governor's Beach.

The Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Association’s sea swims attract a wide variety of participants - competitive and non–competitive swimmers of all ages - and are a family activity which allow parents to set a great example of living a healthy life, by swimming with their children.

If weather conditions threaten the safety of the swimmers or organisers, the race may be cancelled at the discretion of the Race Director.

The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority's will be hosting its 4th annual Charity 5/10K Walk & Run event on 31st May 2020.

It's a 5k Walk or Run, and a 10k Run.

Check back here in late February, by which time we will have full details.

  • Start Times: 6am for the 10k. 6:15am for the 5k.
  • Routes: Start and Finish at Century Yard, Cricket Square. Route maps here.

Registered participants can collect their shirts (subject to availability) during the week prior to the event at the CIMA offices on the 3rd floor of the Century Yard building in Cricket Square, Elgin Avenue.

All proceeds to benefit the literacy and numerous needs at the various Cayman Islands Government primary schools.

The Cayman Islands, located in the beautiful Caribbean Sea with crystal clear waters, white sands and warm weather all year, is the perfect location for outdoor water sports. Over two decades ago, against such an ideal backdrop, the tradition of the Flowers One Mile Sea Swim began.


As the event swims into its 28th year on June 13th, 2020, we invite you to participate in what has come to be considered a must-do event for open water aficionados and has been named one of the World’s Top 10 Open Water Swims.
