The South Sound Stride: A 5k Walk / Run for adults and kids to raise money for First Baptist Christian School.

Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 6:30 a.m.

Course: The race will start and finish at First Baptist Christian School. The course is Old Crewe Road to South Sound. Right on South Sound Road to the Rugby Club. Turn around at the rugby club and return to F.B.C.S.

Registration:

  • Online at www.caymanactive.com/registrations until end of day April 29th or via email (see below) / at FCBS office until race day. 
  • $15 Early-Bird Rate for Students (18 years of age and under) or by Sponsorship Form (FBCS students). $20 if making payment from April 30th to May 2nd.
  • $20 Early-Bird Adult Rate. $25 if making payment from April 30th to May 2nd.

Start Time:

  • 6:30 am – Runners and walkers (Runners out front) - meet on bricks near playground / rear parking lot.
  • 7:30 am - Pee Wee Fun Run (5 years and under)

Check In Options:

  • April 30 - 3:30pm to 6pm at First Baptist Christian School
  • May 1 - 9am to 5pm at First Baptist Christian School
  • May 2 - 5:45am to 6:30am at First Baptist Christian School

Awards:

Trophies for first place overall male and female. 1st, 2nd, 3rd place for both male and female in each of the following divisions: 6-10 yrs., 11-15yrs, 16-19yrs, 20-29yrs, 30-39yrs, 40-49yrs, 50-59yrs, 60+

Amenities:

5K participants will receive a t-shirt while supplies last, race bag, raffle ticket. Children 10 years and under will receive a t-shirt while supplies last, participation medal, race bag, and raffle ticket.

The DG’s 5K Challenge is an annual walk/run event led by Deputy Governor Hon. Franz Manderson, bringing together civil servants, private sector employees and members of the general public in a fitness and fundraising challenge. This is part of the Deputy Governor’s vision to have a healthier, more active and more socially engaged civil service, while benefitting charitable organisations and initiatives in the Cayman Islands.

The 2020 dates are:

  • Cayman Brac - Sunday April 5th
  • Grand Cayman - Sunday April 26th - Route Map

Guardians Alive 2020 takes place on Saturday April 4th starting 6am at Seven Mile Public Beach.

FREE 5k Walk / Run, 10k Run or Beach Wellness Workshop Styled Sessions.

The Wellness sessions, suitable for all fitness levels, also start at 6am and, weather permitting, will include:

  • Deep Water Running / Water Walking
  • Water Aerobics / Beach Workout
  • Water Stretch / Beach Stretch

Get signed up to take part with some of the island's most compassionate and experienced athletes who we call our "Guardians".

No On-the-Day Registration.
Only runners are allowed on the 10K course

All Guardians share their expertise for FREE. Come prepared to learn tips on walking, running and general wellness. Come be inspired to do your best all year long!

Save the date for our 2020 Fred Speirs 5K Walk/Run fundraising event for the Fred Speirs Vocational Grant.

The grant was founded in memory of Rotarian and educator Fred Speirs who was an avid supporter of our youth and Rotaract Blue.

It is a scholarship given to students between 16-30 years who wish to pursue, or are currently pursuing a technical/vocational programme locally or overseas.

Come and join us at the 10th annual 'Light Up the Night' Breast Cancer Beach Walk. The enchanting Light Up the Night event will take place on the 7th March 2020 by the light of the almost full moon! Royal Palms Resort has once again invited us to have the walk start from their premises, we are so grateful to them.

As those who have been on this walk before will know, it is a truly magical event, we stroll down Seven Mile Beach from Royal Palms to the Ritz-Carlton, where we usually enjoy a cold drink and a snack, then we walk back. Bring the whole family, dogs included!

 

You can register beforehand by attending our office at #19 Grand Harbour, the fee is CI$25 per person with under 10’s free, please pay by cheque or cash, (cheques made payable to the Breast Cancer Foundation). T-shirts will be available a couple of weeks prior to the event also, we will let everyone know when they have arrived at our office via our social media pages, or anyone can call us on 923 1135 to arrange pick up prior to the event, we have a lot of shirts – so get there early to get yours!

Registration and payment can be done on the night, a card machine will be available on the evening.

Registration on the night will start at 6pm, after the walk (to the Ritz-Carlton and back), there will be a raffle. Raffle tickets are picked up on the night from the desk when you register your attendance.

The Nationwide Stride Against Cancer, a fundraising event to benefit the Cayman Islands Cancer Society takes place on the last Sunday each January.

For 2020, the big day is Sunday January 26th. 2020 also marks the 25th Anniversary of the Cayman Islands Cancer Society; so this Stride is going to be an extra special one!

CI$25 early bird registration until midnight on January 11th. Thereafter CI$30 registration.

No registration on the day of the event.

 

Race packets (t-shirts) can be collected from the Cayman Islands Cancer Society offices from January 20th. 

Grand Cayman - Seven Mile Public Beach

6am start for the 13.1 mile half marathon timed race.
7am start for the 6.5 mile quarter marathon walk / run.

We are Dashing Thru the Sand again this year.

It's the 22nd annual presentation of Cayman's Boxing Day Beach Run & Walk.

Entry: CI$25 includes random prizes, shirts and breakfast at Duke's for all finishers.
Start: Seven Mile Beach near Hemingway's Restaurant.
Finish: Public Beach on Seven Mile Beach.
Distance: Approximately 1.5 Miles.
Awards: Fastest 4 Males and 4 Females. Overall Fastest, and "Lastest" (and many others too!)

Join us to walk or run the 5k and 10k routes at our annual seasonal Cayman Islands Crisis Centre Jingle Bell Run. All proceeds support our work here at the Crisis Centre.


Our 2019 date is Sunday 1st December. Start time 7am.


This year participants have the chance to win prizes for the best decorated tree race t-shirt (more details to come)


Participants will also enjoy a full breakfast, visits with Santa, and the chance to win some fabulous prizes.


Start and Finish at the Holiday Inn, Safe Haven.



  • CI$25 Pay-in-advance Entry Fee.

  • CI$30 for those who register or pay on the day.
