Event Description:

Please join us for the 5th Annual PAWS On Wheels fundraising cycling event!

The event begins at 7:00am from The Lighthouse Restaurant in Breakers. In-person registration will also be available from 6:15 - 6:45am on the day of the event.

This is not a race or a timed event, we just want to encourage everyone to enjoy their ride around the beautiful eastern districts in support of our animal welfare efforts!

This is a family-friendly event with 3 routes according to age and experience level:

Route 1: From The Lighthouse Restaurant to Frank Sound Road and back

This route is perfect for our younger cyclists and beginner riders. The length is approximately 4km.

Route 2: From The Lighthouse Restaurant to North Sound Road and back

This route is suited to older children and beginner to intermediate riders. The length is approximately 15km.

Route 3: From The Lighthouse Restaurant around the East End Loop

This route is suited to more experienced riders. The length is approximately 34km.

The event will be followed by a continental breakfast at The Lighthouse Restaurant and lots of prizes! We encourage animal-themed accessories... The more cat tails and mouse ears, the better!

Thank you and we hope to see you there!

Every year on 14 June, countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day (WBDD).

The event serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products, and to thank blood donors for their voluntary, life-saving gifts of blood.

Transfusion of blood and blood products helps save millions of lives every year. It can help patients suffering from life-threatening conditions live longer and with a higher quality of life, and supports complex medical and surgical procedures. It also has an essential, life-saving role in maternal and child care and during the emergency response to man-made and natural disasters.

A blood service that gives patients access to safe blood and blood products in sufficient quantity is a key component of an effective health system. Ensuring safe and sufficient blood supplies requires the development of a nationally coordinated blood transfusion service based on voluntary non-remunerated blood donations. However, in many countries, blood services face the challenge of making sufficient blood available, while also ensuring its quality and safety.

The aim is to divide up participants armed with garbage bags to collect rubbish along the East West Bypass.

This is a great way to give back, whilst exercising and getting your steps in.

The Cayman Islands, located in the beautiful Caribbean Sea with crystal clear waters, white sands and warm weather all year, is the perfect location for outdoor water sports. Over two decades ago, against such an ideal backdrop, the tradition of the Flowers One Mile Sea Swim began.

As the event swims into its 27th year on June 15, 2019, we invite you to participate in what has come to be considered a must-do event for open water aficionados and has been named one of the World’s Top 13 Open Water Swims.

2018 details below. To be confirmed for 2019.

The Flowers Sea Swim is Grand Cayman’s flagship sporting event. Last event’s race boasted over 1000 registrants. Participants vary in age from 8 to 80 years old and in skill from novices and first-timers to gold medal Olympians and world championship open water specialists from around the globe. The Flowers Sea Swim welcomes Swimmers from all strokes of life!

The unique draw of the Flowers Sea Swim is not only its flawless course conditions along Cayman’s beautiful Seven Mile Beach, but the numerous random prizes. The race is the world’s richest open water event with over $100,000 in cash and random prizes. The odds to win a random prize are 1-in-7 and previous giveaways have included blackberries, Ipad’s, hotel stays, and dozens of airline tickets to premier destinations such as Miami, New York, Panama, Rome, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, London, Dublin, Rio De Janerio, and Toronto. All finishers receive a fantastic t-shirt and goody bag filled with prizes and surprises!
