JUNIOR PROGRAM/SUMMER CAMP
 
We are all set for reopening on the 5th July, however we are proceeding with caution and will need to adapt as we move towards our "full normal".

Considering that it will not be a complete re-opening of the Island with suppression levels down, as yet, we decided on doing a format of the regular after school program rather than summer camps for the Month of July and consider a camp in August all being well.

Due to the fact that we are limiting numbers for each session we are using sign up genius to track numbers. Please remember to complete the registration process after selecting your days and times. 
 
Any registration not received will result in removal from sign up. 
 
Once we receive the registration form an invoice will be created and sent with payment details.

Please support the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens One Million Miles for Diabetes Awareness Virtual Move-A-Thon!

 

This is a virtual event to raise funds to help raise awareness and take action against Diabetes.

This event is for all walkers, runners, cyclists, and communities to help reach a goal of 1,000,000 miles.

Net race profits will go to the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens, Grand Cayman Islands to aid in this fight.

  • Register and make your mileage to count towards the goal!
  • There is no medal for this event; one can boast on joining us in this fight.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT

  • Decide on the number of miles you would like to pledge. (Regular registration will cover up to 25 miles. Registration is $25 per person. Additional mileage may be pledged by each person by making a donation of $1 for each additional mile. If you would like to pledge additional mileage, you are welcome to do so.
  • Register for the virtual event at the link above.
  • Complete your mileage. (Miles can be completed by walking, running, and/or cycling over a period of time. Treadmills and stationary bikes may be used to complete your miles.)

Tracking Mileage against our target: a cumulative total of miles will be announced each week.

NEW DATE: Originally scheduled for April 4th, Guardians Alive 2020 will  now take place on Saturday September 5th starting 6am at Seven Mile Public Beach.

This is a FREE 5k Walk / Run, 10k Run or Beach Wellness Workshop Styled Sessions.

The Wellness sessions, suitable for all fitness levels, also start at 6am and, weather permitting, will include:

  • Deep Water Running / Water Walking
  • Water Aerobics / Beach Workout
  • Water Stretch / Beach Stretch

Get signed up to take part with some of the island's most compassionate and experienced athletes who we call our "Guardians".

No On-the-Day Registration.
Only runners are allowed on the 10K course

All Guardians share their expertise for FREE. Come prepared to learn tips on walking, running and general wellness. Come be inspired to do your best all year long!

With regret, due to the disruptions caused this year as a result of COVID-19 the PACCE Journey for Life event will not be held in 2020.

We will be back - bigger, better and stronger in 2021.

The Lions Club of Grand Cayman proudly presents the 2020 PACCE (Prostate & Colon Cancer Event): The 9th Annual Delano Hislop Memorial Journey for Life Walk / Run.

This year: Walk 5k, Run 10k or Ride 15k

This is not a timed event. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in any portion of the event unless accompanied by an adult.

Proceeds raised from this event will benefit Jasmine (formerly Cayman HospiceCare) and the Cayman Islands Cancer Society.

$25 Registration

Registrants please try to attend "T-Shirt & Bib Pick Up"on Saturday 5th September from 7am - 11am at the Lions Community Centre, Crewe Road . If you can't make that, please be sure to arrive early on event day.

There will be two FREE build-up events in the Triathlon Training Series available to CI Triathlon Association members this year. 

Transition will open at 6am, with the ‘race’ starting at 6.45am.

Race 1: Sunday September 6th:

  • Sprint Build-Up distances: 375m swim, 6.2 mile bike and 1.55 mile run
  • Olympic Build-Up distances: 750m swim, 12.4 mile bike and 3.1 mile run


Race 2: Sunday September 27th:

  • Sprint - distances to be confirmed
  • Olympic – distances to be confirmed


These races are all self-supporting. CITA will provide water and ice in the transition area, however athletes are encouraged to bring any additional refreshments or equipment they feel they will need. The courses will be marked but with limited marshals and open roads.

All participants are required to be CITA members. If you are not a CITA member you can register now for just $15 for the year.

This is a fun series designed to help athletes train and prepare for race day. Please be mindful and supportive of the new athletes on the course for the first time!

Time Trial events allow athletes to test their individual performance at various distances. The new route on the Queens highway has minimum traffic and athletes will start 1 minute apart. You can participate with a road bike or TT specific bike, it doesn't matter.

Format:

Individual

Route:

Starting and Finishing near the Queens monument on 'Queens Highway'  athlete's travel East for 5 miles in the direction of Morritts Tortuga then returning to the finish.

Event Details:

Individual athletes are categorized and corral on the day as follows.

Cat,4 , Women, 3 , 2 , 1, Masters, Super Master

Team pursuit athletes, your time is not complete until all athletes pass the finish line.

Prizes

1st , 2nd and 3rd in each Category

Cat,4 , Women, 3 , 2 , 1, Masters, Super Master
