After many rounds of qualification play at the North Sound Club, and the Island National Championships in May, the Cayman Islands Golf Association (CIGA) is proud to announce the national team selected to represent Cayman at the Caribbean Amateur Championships in the Turks and Caicos in August 2009.

Cayman Golf Team Member
Nitty Howe
Two time National Amateur Champion and four time President’s Trophy winner, Nitty has made her way on to the ladies team for the seventh time.
Cayman Golf Team MemberSamantha Widmer
Sam is one of the best young female players in the Caribbean and has won the Ladies National Amateur Championship title three of the last six years.  She also played in the NatWest Island Games in Aland, Finland this year.
Cayman Golf Team MemberJosie Yeend
Josie finished in second place for this year’s National Amateur Championship and continues to play well. This is her second time representing the Cayman Ladies for the George Teale Cup.
Cayman Golf Team MemberTom Crawford
Tom Crawford is a seasoned player having graduated over the years from Hoerman Cup to Seniors and finally reaching the granddaddy of all categories, the Super Seniors!
Cayman Golf Team MemberBob Slatter
Bob first played in the Hoerman Cup in 1966. He has been involved with golf in the Caribbean ever since, as a player for the Bahamas and Cayman and serving on their Committees as well as the CGA. He has twice been the Tournament Director for the CAGC in Cayman. This may be his last year as a player but not as a supporter of Caribbean golf.
Cayman Golf Team MemberRobert Chilman
Robert is our top men’s qualifier this year and is making his 16th CAGC appearance. Part of the winning Senior team in 2003 and 2004, Robert and new playing partner Tracy hope to bring the Francis/Steele-Perkins Cup back to Cayman. Robert also traveled to Aland, Finland in July representing Cayman in the Island Games.
Cayman Golf Team MemberTracy Moore
Tracy is making his seventh appearance in the CAGC for Cayman; this year is his first in the Senior Division, after five Hoerman Cups and one in the Ramon Baez Trophy. His golfing highlight is a 345 yard hole in one (May 2008) on the par 4 10th hole at The North Sound Club, Grand Cayman.
Cayman Golf Team MemberTrent Riggins
This is Trent’s third consecutive year on the Mid Am team. Once again he is paired with Colin, and they are looking to improve their last year’s third place finish.
Cayman Golf Team MemberColin Mackay
Scotsman Colin returns for his third Mid-Am since 2004, this is his second time teamed with Trent. Playing on the World Amateur Team for Cayman in 2004 and finishing low man on our team stands as his golfing high spot.
Cayman Golf Team MemberJoel Dodson
Joel is again our Amateur Champion, winning in 2007 and 2009 and this is his third year on the Hoerman Cup team. He was an integral part of the team that finished second in last year’s CAGC in Cayman.
Cayman Golf Team MemberSean McEachern
This is Sean’s first time in qualifying and is pleased to have made the team. His most special golf moment was organizing his father’s retirement golf tournament in 2000 and playing with his father that day.
Cayman Golf Team MemberJohnny Widmer
Johnny has completed his first collegiate year at University of Colorado. He qualified to play in the NCAA Regional Finals and is considered to be one of the top freshman players on the team.
Cayman Golf Team MemberMichael Wight
Mike is a stalwart of the Hoerman Cup, making his 12th appearance at the CAGC. He will, as always, provide excellent support and guidance to his team members.
Cayman Golf Team MemberRobert Woods
Robert has represented the Cayman Islands for over a decade and was part of the very successful Hoerman Cup Team last year when the tournament was held at the North Sound Club. Robert also represented the Country at the inaugural Caribbean Cup where he struck up an unexpected unbeaten partnership with Turks and Caicos stalwart J.P. Srinark. Robert is looking forward to some great Turks and Caicos hospitality this year as friendships are renewed.
Cayman Golf Team MemberCoach - Kevin Mumford
As the Director of Golf at the North Sound Club, Kevin is looking forward to coaching the 14 Cayman team members again this year. Last year he successfully coached the Hoerman Cup team to a 2nd place finish, and hopes for an ever better finish this year.
Cayman Golf Team MemberManager - George Christie
George grew up around a golf course, where his father was a green’s keeper, and started playing golf at six years of age. George brings his experience of three times on the Cayman team to his manager position this year.
