The CIFA U13 Semi–Final FA Cup matches took place on Tuesday March 9th. At the Ed Bush Field in West Bay, defending FA Cayman Athletic Sports Club (CASC) took on Future and at the end of the whistle they came away with a 2-0 win. At the Annex it was Tigers versus Bodden. Once again Bodden Town came away victorious with a 3-1 win. The finals will now see Bodden Town face Cayman Athletics in a date soon to be announced by the Fixtures committee.
View these photos with thumbnails and captions and add comments at the Community Gallery Thursday March 18 CIFA Under-15 FA Cup preliminary games will be played between St Ignatius and Bodden Town at 4:00pm at the Annex. East End takes on George Town on this same date at the Bodden Town Sports Complex at 4:30pm. On Saturday March 20, Seven Miles SC meets Cayman Brac at the Annex. Five teams received byes namely Cayman Athletics, Future, Elite, Tigers and Scholars International. Meanwhile, there will be a single preliminary game in the Under-17 FA Cup this Saturday March 20 at the Ed Bus Stadium between Elite and Roma at 10:30am. Seven teams received byes in this age group; the teams are Cayman Brac, Bodden Town, Academy, Cayman Athletics, East End, Sunset and Future. Cayman Athletics is the defending champions of the Under-13 and Under-15 age groups while Bodden Town are the defending champions of the Under-17s.
2009/10 CIFA Youth FA Cup:
It was the defending champions who went forward in the 26th minute with a goal from Christopher Ebanks ending the first half 1-0.
At the start of the second half Bodden Town continued to apply all the pressure they could generate under the instructions of Coach Elbert McLean from the side line. In the 51st minute Jamal Clarke equalized for Bodden Town after picking up ball in the middle and running through the defense line of the opponent and scoring.
This made the game more interesting as in the 74th minute Gerome Graham took Bodden Town ahead. Graham capitalized on a cross from the right flank which he latched on to and finished intelligently at the back of the net. The game became very physical as the ball rolled from one eighteen yard to the other forcing Referee Nolan Foster to prove how fit he was in the middle. Dale Parker defender of the Cayman Athletics team under pressure from the Bodden Town strikers fouled one of his opponents while going forward.
Referee Foster pointed to the penalty spot, Graham walked up and took the shot making the score 3-1 in the 90th minute to complete his well deserved double.
It was now the end of regulation time Referee Foster pointed to the centre to end the game 3-1 and hand Coach Elbert McLean his fourth title of the season.
Ernie “Gillie” Seymour recently copped the Under 13 and Under 15 FA Cup titles while McLean captured the Fosters First Division and the CIFA Senior Men’s FA Cup title, the CIFA Admiral Under 17 League title and his fourth the Under 17 FA Cup title.
McLean in a brief interview had this to say “Bodden Town had an excellent season this year. All the hard work we put in has paid off. We have taken four titles this season and I am delighted. I am proud of the boys, myself, the coaching staff, our President Mark Scotland, parents and the community for our achievements. Throughout the first half they brought the game to us but we outplayed them during the second segment as we were better physically. Overall it was a great game from start to finish.”
Meanwhile, Seymour spoke of his team being made up of mainly the Under 15 players as some of his older boys had some issues and did not show up.
“I had to use some of the Under 15 players as some of my key players did not show due to some personal issues. We stuck to the game plan in the first half and were leading. In the second half fatigue stepped in and they lost concentration gave up some easy goals and this cost us the game. Bodden Town were better physically and it was a great game."

Bodden Town came from behind to oust defending champions Cayman Athletics Sports Club 3-1 to take the title of the Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) Under 17 FA cup competition 2009 championship at the TE McField Sports Centre last Saturday evening in front of a packed venue.
