More about CASC
Cayman Athletic Sports Club (CASC), under the leadership and technical expertise of Coach Ernie “Gillie” Seymour was formed in 2006. The young club has a membership of some 90 plus players ranging in age from 8-17. The players now practice weekly and play in the youth league.
President of the club, Paulette Conolly-Bailey says “The aim of the club is to use Football to teach the young boys how to be productive citizens in our community. Therefore training does not only focus on the game itself, but also includes Life skills and community service in their program."
The club can also boast about having the record of being the only team from the Cayman Islands who has gone to Wales, and brought home trophies from the Welsh International Super Cup, after winning the Under 10 Welsh Shield Cup and coming 2nd in the Under 13 Welsh Challenge cup. This accomplishment this past summer was made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Cayman Islands government, Stuarts, Walkers, Hersant Law Firm and many, many other community partners, family and friends who supported the young players.
Mrs. Conolly-Bailey says the Executive Committee, Parents and Players all operate under the umbrella of Mia Hamm’s famous saying “I am a member of a team, and I rely on the team, I defer to it and sacrifice for it, because the team, not the individual, is the ultimate champion.“
