The Cayman Islands Cricket Association is aiming to have a women’s league commencing around March 2009, and it looks like there will be three teams to start with, playing mid-week in the evenings. The Village Greenies Cricket Team are looking to start a Greenies Ladies team to start training now for the commencement in March.
It looks like it will be 8 a side, limited overs and played with a 5oz cricket ball. There is quite a big push behind women’s cricket at the moment and the CICA already has teams wanting to come and tour here, and later we would want to have a competitive national team.
Check out the Village Greenies WebSite and drop them a line if you are interested in joining the all-new Ladies team.
