Adult Co-Ed Softball - Fall 2010 Season

Coors Light hammers Hammers - Pat Haag hit a grand slam and James Lewis added a three-run homer to lead the Coors Light Chuggers to a 17-3 victory over the previously undefeated A.L. Thompson’s Hammers.

The Hammers scored first on an error in the first inning, but Coors LIght came right back with two in the bottom of the first and then six more in the bottom of the second and the rout was on.

Although the Chuggers, who are now 2-1 on the young season, made five errors in the field – more than they made in the first two games put together – they made big plays when they needed to and pitcher Alan Markoff kept the Hammer hitters off balance with high arcing pitches.

“The sky-ball was working tonight,” Markoff said.

Chugger third baseman Mark Wallace finally broke out of his hitting slump with two hits, including a two run single in the big second inning

“I liked our intensity out there,” Wallace said. “Scoring 17 runs and only giving up three? You have to like that.”

Home Gas remained undefeated and moved into first place in the A League with a 15-10 win over KM Ltd.

The surprising PwC Scorpions sit atop the C-League standings as they moved to 3-0 with a 7-6 nail-biting win over Team Britcay.

The Maples Sluggers slugged the previously undefeated PwC B Team 17-6.  “It must have been all the press we’ve been getting,” said PwC coach Brian Rando.

Deloitte moved into first place in the B2 division, winning a 15-13 slugfest with A.L. Thompson’s Drills.
