The 2013 Pirates Week 5k Run was held at 5pm on Friday 8th November, starting at Bayshore Mall on Harbour Drive, George Town. This annual event is part of Pirates Week, Cayman's National Festival which officially gets underway with people of all ages taking to the street to compete in this Pirates Week 5K Run.
Dominic Corbin was first home with a time of 17m30s, followed by a pack of 173 other runners and joggers. Tiffany Cole was the first female finisher with a time of 20m55s.
The race course goes south from Harbour Drive on to South Church Street and to the turn around point. It then returns on the same route to the Harbour.
On a night that promises fantastic entertainment, the 5K race is great prelude event. Finishing on Harbour Drive ensures enthusiastic spectators cheering the runners to the finish. The awards will be presented before a welcoming crowd. Awards are presented to the first three runners in each age group and there are random prizes and event T-shirts.
2013 REGISTRATION: Registration takes place on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th from 9am to 5pm at Cayside House (opposite the Pirates Week Office on Shedden Road). Then again from 9am to 2:30pm on Friday, before it moves to Bayshore Mall at 3:30pm. If you can please print and complete a form first.
