Yoga and Pilates on the roof!

Outdoor Yoga Classes - Cayman Yoga with an incredible outlook - High on a Seven Mile Beach rooftop. We don't think you can get a better class with a better setting anywhere else! Imagine doing a fitness class with this view as the backdrop. Imagine the fresh Caribbean sea breeze filling your lungs and keeping you cool while you enjoy an intense workout! All this becomes a reality with our Yoga and Pilates sessions on the spectacular rooftop terrace of the Grand Cayman Beach Suites.

Cayman Sports also holds outdoor yoga classes at the Crescent at Camana Bay. Participants can expect a cool Caribbean breeze, a tranquil setting and breathtaking views. The instructor for the yoga classes is Chantelle who hails from New York and has completed her 500 Hour Professional Level Yoga Teacher Training at the world renowned Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Massachusetts.

Location - For the rooftop classes please park across the road in the Deckers car park. Take the elevator located at the hotel reception to the roof.

We do have mats available to use, but feel free to bring your own and perhaps a towel as well. It is best to perform postures on an empty stomach. Wait one to two hours after a full meal before practicing. You may, however, have a glass of juice or a piece of fruit up to an hour before.

What is Yoga? Yoga is much more than physical exercise, it is a transformational practice that integrates body, mind and spirit. Yoga is a way of encountering and releasing physical, mental, and emotional tensions to arrive at deeper levels of relaxation and awareness, restoring the body to i’s natural state of alignment and balance.

What to expect - Teaching in the Kripalu style, students are encouraged to find their own unique expression of yoga that best helps to fulfill their individual goals of physical fitness and mental clarity. Chantelle guides students through creative posture flows where the breath is linked with movement - a mediation in motion.

Each yoga class includes:

  • Warm Ups that synchronize breath with movement, as a means of inducing concentration and preparing the body for more in depth asana (postures).
  • Creative asana (posture) sequences that are precisely designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance the body including: standing and balancing, forward and back bending, spinal twists, lateral bends, and inversions.
  • Classes close with an experience of deep relaxation, helping to integrate your practice into your body and your life.
  • Classes range from gentle to moderate to vigorous.

Is Yoga Right for You? The benefits of yoga available to you are many, regardless of your age, flexibility, or degree of proficiency in the exercises. I will be happy to offer assistance in whatever way possible to help both beginners and advanced practitioners to find a variation of each pose that will suit you the best for how you show up each day.

Rates - Each class is $15 or $130 for a ten trip ticket.
