Cancer: A problem that shows up more and more these days. I recently meet a young man battling this disease. He kept his spirit up and tried not to stress out, he realised how important it was to now look after his overall health and had to switch things up in his life. It got me to thinking, cancer does not discriminate! It can happen to young and old alike. The interesting thing is that we all have cancer cells in our bodies. They do not become a problem until they multiply to a few billion and can then be detected by certain tests. Cancer cell can occur anywhere from 6 to more than 10 times in a persons lifetime. So what causes these cells to increase? An unhealthy immune system is one of the culprits. Which leads us right back to why it is so important to eat healthy, exercise and supplement our diets. Low levels of Vitamin C as well as Folate, Vitamin B6, Beta-Carotene and Fiber can be associated with everything from larynx, cervical, bladder, breast and prostate cancer. Cancer LOVES processed sugars, it supplies it with the fuel it needs to survive. Try to stay away from too much of this, and if necessary substitute with Stevia or Agave Nectar Syrup or Manuka Honey. Best yet eat delicious sweet nutrition packed fruits including lots of berries which are high in antioxidants, also try lychee's, kiwis, limes, bananas, pomegranates etc. Cancer cells also love acidic environments, so refrain from eating high amounts of red meats. The undigested meat becomes putrefied and leads to toxicity. Eat more fish and chicken. Another thing to avoid is high caffeine. Limit or cut out coffee, tea and sodas. Substitute with green & white teas which are cancer-fighting. Off course your mother was always right: Eat your vegetables, have as many as you like; broccoli, carrots, corn, spinach, mushrooms etc. Try to eat raw veggies at least 2 times or more per week. Supplements work well in preventing cancer cells from growing. Try to take in extra Vitamin C (use a buffered one as it is non-acidic and easier on the stomach in large amounts), Pro-biotics, Selenium, Essential Fatty Acids, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Garlic and additional fiber from Chia Seeds, Flax Seeds or Psyllium Seed Husks. Last but certainly not least, get enough oxygen! Yes you heard right - Oxygen. Cancer cells can't live in an oxygenated environment. So exercise everyday and incorporate deep breathing techniques. Again, this is why I continually stress the importance of a sound diet and a regular workout routine, it can prevent so many illnesses. Chemotherapy might not be necessary. It only POISONS cancer cells and DESTROYS healthy cells in the body and radiation treatment burns, scars and damages tissues and organs. Actually, a combination of the two can actually mutate cancer cells. So stay on track with your health. You only have one life and it should be enjoyed to the end.
