Client Testimony:
Completing a Certification as a Conditioning Therapist in the Burdenko Method of Water Therapy has been transformational in my personal and professional life. In water, there is pain-free movement with optimum results enabling the body to get in balance for everyday activity without injury. Here’s why water is the optimum environment for physical activity.
Water is a gravity free environment with no-impact and low-injury and is excellent for overweight individuals who wish to trim down, athletes in training and those with restrictive movements due to injury, aging and lifestyle. Water therapy involves use of the entire body in a choreographed water dance, not just injured parts, thereby enhancing overall conditioning. The warm water environment also promotes muscle relaxation and efficient movement in a healthy outdoor environment. It’s also fun, releases tension and promotes a feeling of well-being.
In Cayman’s ocean playground, water is a natural outdoor gym and the principles of the Burdenko Method of Water Therapy incorporate six essential qualities that enable us to function on land more efficiently, improve posture and reduce stress on individual joints. These six essential qualities are:
Balance, Flexibility, Co-ordination, Endurance, Strength, Speed
An ability to swim is not necessary to participate in the programme. What you can expect is fun and frolic in the water to the sound of upbeat island music and entire body movement without pain or stress. Seasonal tourists from The Great House on Seven Mile Beach, winter residents of Cayman Kai and year-round residents on Grand Cayman can attest to the fact that “Water Works Wonders”. Water Works Wonders is excellent for children, teens and adults of all ages, shapes and sizes. Please e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. …the sea that surrounds the beauty of Cayman attests to that fact. Water training reduces the stress on your joints and strengthens muscles to help keep your body balanced. Now, you can try it for yourself.
When Canadian champion figure skater Nancy Kerrigan suffered a blow to her knee before the 1994 Olympics, she turned to fitness expert Igor Burdenko, who promptly told her to strip down to bare minimum and dive in – the pool that is.
